Streamline RS-232 connectivity for serial device management over IP
This 2-port serial to IP converter is an efficient solution for remotely connecting and controlling a variety of RS232 serial devices over an IP-based network. Configuration and Management The DB9 to Ethernet Adapter family shares the same Windows Virtual COM Port software and Web User Interface (WebUI) for a unified experience. Users can employ the Windows software to view and manage all device servers within a network and to set up virtual COM ports. Alternatively, the WebUI provides a platform-independent method, allowing users to access and configure these device servers from any operating system. This flexibility ensures that administrators can manage their network of device servers efficiently, regardless of the operating system they are using. The product family includes the following options: • 1-Port Serial to Ethernet Adapter with PoE (I13P-SERIAL-ETHERNET) • 1-Port Serial to Ethernet Adapter (I13-SERIAL-ETHERNET) • 2-Port Serial to Ethernet Adapter (I23-SERIAL-ETHERNET) • 4-Port Serial to Ethernet Adapter (I43-SERIAL-ETHERNET) Flexible Installation and Rugged Chassis Dual power options, DC jack and terminal block, provide installation flexibility and convenience. The converter is housed in a full metal enclosure for durability in harsh environments. The DB9 over IP converter includes all necessary wall and DIN rail mounting hardware. Multiple mounting holes along the chassis allow it to be installed in the most useful orientation for any application. Dimensions of 7x2.3x0.9in (178x59.4x23mm). Ethernet and Power Options The TAA-compliant IP-to-serial converter features a single RJ45 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port and supports Telnet Server (RFC2217), TCP Server, TCP Client, and UDP protocols for versatile network connectivity. It also includes a universal power adapter, supports Level-4 ESD protection (15kV air/8kV contact), and can supply 5VDC over pin 9 if required. The StarTech.com Advantage |
Three-Way Communication
The ICF-1150 series support 2 serial ports, with a D-sub connector for RS-232 communication and a removable terminal block for RS-422 or RS-485 communication. The 3 ports (2 serial ports and one fiber port) are completely independent. When an ICF-1150 converter receives data from any one port, it will send the data out through the other 2 ports. For example, once the ICF-1150 converter receives a command from the remote master through the fiber port, it will convert the signal and send the command through the RS-232 and RS-422/485 ports at the same time. If the user is monitoring a system running on an RS-485 network, there is no need to use an additional RS-232 to RS-485 converter to connect the laptop computer's serial port to the RS-485 bus. Rotary Switch for Setting the Pull High/Low Resistor The RS-485 interface supports multi-drop or daisy-chain connections, which system engineers will use to connect serial devices such as meters, RTUs, and readers together on the same bus. Since the number of serial devices on the same bus will cause the impedance of the data line to increase, the ICF-1150 allows users to tune the pull high/low resistor. Just rotate the switch to the appropriate value without removing the ICF-1150 from the DIN-rail. |
Streamline RS-232 connectivity for serial device management over IP
This 4-port serial to IP converter is an efficient solution for remotely connecting and controlling a variety of RS232 serial devices over an IP-based network. Configuration and Management The DB9 to Ethernet Adapter family shares the same Windows Virtual COM Port software and Web User Interface (WebUI) for a unified experience.
